TELNET PROBLEMS

Please use the information on this page to add
Telnet Client Support to your system
Instead of calling DIMENET Support

Most newer Web Browsers include a pre-configured ready-to-go Telnet client program that allows you to use telnet from within the browser.

However, many of the older systems, system running older versions of Windows and systems that are using Netscape Navigator, don't have this included in the system and you need to add a program and configure the browser to have this capability.

This page contains information on most of the browsers and systems we have come across that have this problem and includes steps to take to obtain the necessary client program and configure the browser to use it.

As the demand for access to DIMENET systems has greatly increased recently, DIMENET support lines have been inundated with requests for assistance with configuring browsers so that they will work with Telnet Tags.

Netscape Navigator 2.0 or higher
Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0 or lower
Windows 95 Systems
Windows 3.11 Systems

This page will include specific instructions, and links to actual software that can be used if necessary to enable telnet capabilities in the above.

If your configuration is different than above or are experiencing different access problems, please contact Roland Sykes by E-Mail and we will find out what specific information you require and add it to the same page. Until this information is posted, you can contact the browser manufacturer for instructions on how to activate this.

Thank you....
