1 MS. HATCH: Yeah, it's like an
2 article.
3 MR. JANUS: Why is there no one
4 here.
5 MS. HATCH: Go ahead, Woody.
6 MR. OSBURN: To answer your
7 question, I think that in Cincinnati that probably
8 is typical. And you know, I've struggled with that
9 question as to why we have this Disability Rights
10 move, as we call it, Independent Living Movement
11 and why it doesn't interest the media, you know. I
12 have some theories, but I'll spare you that.
13 We got some media coverage yesterday
14 in Dayton. It certainly was not the attention that
15 the issues deserve. And I just think as a minority
16 we are ignored for whatever reasons. And, you
17 know, that is a big function I would say of the
18 SILC on a statewide level to get that remedied. So
19 that is a priority that I personally would like to
20 see taken care of. That's just a personal comment.
21 Kathleen?
22 MS. HATCH: That's it. I was just
23 going to tell him about yesterday. In Dayton
24 yesterday we had representative I think it's a

1 local FM radio station, and public radio. Anyway,
2 they are doing disabilities awareness week in May
3 and the columnist wanted to be there. And she's
4 going to try to come to a couple other ones as
5 well, so that's a start. We are working on it.
6 MR. LEVTZ: I'm wondering about
7 something. One of the things that I mentioned
8 earlier that the City Council here in Cincinnati
9 had been looking at ways of how they can make
10 housing affordable. And I'm just wondering -- I
11 think it'll be really interesting. Are you
12 planning on making any type of presentation to the
13 City Council here in Cincinnati?
14 MR. OSBURN: We hadn't planned on it
15 up until this moment. You know, I guess I'll let
16 Linda address that one. I mean, it's a local
17 issue. But it's also a state issue, so that I'm
18 not trying to cop out. I think in terms of
19 addressing the City Council, if we were invited to
20 come and do that, certainly, we would do that,
21 sure.
22 MS. GOOD: I'll go a little bit
23 further. I'd be willing to go with members from
24 Independent Living Operations if necessary.
