UNIVERSAL DESIGN AT HOME:  A COMMUNITY WORKSHOP SERIES SPONSORED BY OSU 
CARES AND LOWES

Universal Design is a worldwide movement that advocates that
all environments be accessible to the widest possible range
of users.  This workshop series focuses on making home
environments comfortable and usable for full range of  human
abilities.

Universal Design Workshops at Lowe's

We would like to make you aware of the upcoming community
workshops on Universal Design. They will be held at four
Lowe's stores in Franklin County as well as several other
community locations.

Initially, this project is a result of an OSU CARES grant in
which a partnership was established among:

     *   OSU Extension
     *   Consumer & Textile Sciences
     *   Allied Medical Professions
     *   Occupational Therapy
     *   Ohio Department of Aging
     *   Lowe's Home Improvement Stores

With recent funding from an Outreach and Engagement grant,
this project will be further expanded to reach consumers in
all of Ohio's 88 counties. This project is an excellent
example of the benefits University- Community-Business
partnerships can bring to education and outreach efforts.
