The response to the "Roadmap for the Information Superhighway" Internet
training workshops has been incredible. 62,000 people from over 75
countries are currently subscribed to the three Roadmap workshop
distribution lists, and this does *not* include the tens of thousands
of other people who are receiving the workshop lessons through other
re-distribution lists.

Unfortunately, the response to the Roadmap workshops has been so
incredible that I can can no longer accept any more new subscribers
to the workshop's lists.

Several people have written asking for permission to redistribute the
Roadmap workshop lessons to others. You are more than welcome to
redistribute the Roadmap workshop lessons to ANYONE you want, provided
that:

     1. You correct any typos that may have slipped through (I don't
want the ENTIRE world to know how badly I spell),

     2. You give credit where credit is due,

     3. You tell the people that you redistribute the lessons to that
the lessons are being redistributed by you and *NOT* by me
(I don't want a billion UNSUB messages from people who are
not even subscribed to the workshop), and

     4. You not make any money off of the workshop or the workshop lessons
(I can't make any money off of this, so neither can you!).

If you are willing to follow these four guidelines, you are free to
spam the world with my lessons :)

USER SERVICES STAFF AND SYSOPS:

You are more than welcome to archive the Roadmap workshop lessons
at your site, and to even rewrite the lessons to meet the particular
needs of your site, provided that

     1. You agree to the four provisions listed above,

     2. You place *all* of the workshop files on your site's system,

     3. You direct your users to use YOUR archive and *not* the
University of Alabama's LISTSERV file server. This will
require you to rewrite some of the lessons, but it will
also lighten the load on the University of Alabama's system.

A final, edited version of all of the Roadmap workshop lessons and
files will be placed on the University of Alabama's LISTSERV file
server on December 15, 1994. You can send an INDEX ROADMAP command
to LISTSERV@UA1VM.UA.EDU any time after this date, and use the
GET FILENAME FILETYPE command to get the files and put them in
your archive.
