ADVOCACY- what happened to the groups that do advocacy that are not
lawyers?

A: I'm not sure I understand the question. Groups that do advocacy that are
not lawyers will fit under the main category of ADVOCACY/.

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY - where do I put information about financing and
technology evaluations.

A: Two suggestions: 1) put it under ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY/ and do a
keyword search, or 2) put it under BENEFITS as a subcategory

BENEFITS- add /VETERANS

A: This information will be search for by using a the keyword VETERANS

CRISIS- add /RAPE and /DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A: RAPE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE can fit under /COUNSELING and/or
/HOTLINES between the title of the entry and keyword searches I think the
information would be easy to find. For that reason I don't think
subcategories are necessary, but it's always and option.

EDUCATION - add /LITERACY

A: /LITERACY I'm thinking it's mostly focused on adult literacy. I'm not sure
how many entries you would have that fit under literacy, but I think it could
be found in keyword searches.

EMPLOYMENT- add /TRAINING and /VOLUNTEER WORK

A: I think those are both good suggestions.

HOUSING - add /RESPITE CARE

A: /RESPITE CARE is a good suggestion, but it will fit better under
PERSONAL ASSISTED SERVICES.

RECREATION - add /RELIGION

A: good suggestion

If we do away with SUPPORT GROUPS: where does DRUG AND ALCOHOL
and PARENT/FAMILY stuff belong?

A: Well think it can fit under CRISIS/COUNSELING and use the keywords
family support, drug and alcohol. Another possibility depending on how
many entries we would have is creating a subcategory of /SUPPORT
GROUPS under crisis. My logic behind that would be if you are to the point
where you need the support group/peer counseling then at some point and
time a climax point or crisis had to occur.

Main categories for us are:
AGING
CHILDREN
BILINGUAL/SPANISH and /ASIAN

These are our underserved groups, we need to leave these in as part of our
outreach efforts are focusing on gathering these resources.

Comments welcome!

A: If we were to create this as categories it would cause confusion at some
point and time of we were to use keywords under the different main
categories to find these I think that will work.

COMMENT: The big thing to keep is that using the secondary searches
(keyword) is letting the computer find the information for you. If the note
section is empty then it will make the information harder to find. We are not
trying to be perfect we just want to attempt to get something that will work
if we need to make SMALL after a year or so then we can.
