http://www.onarollradio.com On A Roll -- Talk Radio on Life & Disability Live, Sundays 6-8 PM Eastern Time 22 radio stations nationwide plus the Internet live & archived THIS WEEK'S SHOW SUNDAY AUGUST 19, 2001 FIRST HOUR: 6-7 PM I just returned from the Governor's ADA Working Group at the Wyndham Resort in Orlando Florida. Governor Jeb Bush addressed the audience yesterday and answered a few of my questions after his speech. We'll have his comments, and we'll be joined by Julie Shaw, Executive Administrator of the three-day conference. SECOND HOUR: 7-8 PM Robert Wendland died last month of pneumonia, but for the past six years, there has been a legal battle over his life or death. He was injured in a motorcycle crash in 1993. In 1995, his wife directed doctors to pull his feeding tubes, saying she thought she was carrying out his wishes because he had twice commented about not wanting to live as a vegetable. However, Wendland was in what was described as a "twilight" state. He was concious, could think and move slightly in his hospital bed. Last week, the California Supreme Court ruled that a family is NOT free to end life support for an incapacitated loved one simply because he had said he would not want to live like a vegetable. We'll have family members and attorneys discussing this interesting, case and what it means to YOU! HOW TO GET INVOLVED... Call in and participate in the show! Every single caller helps expand our radio voice. The world is listening. What does the disability community have to say? What do YOU have to say? Don't be silent.
