Today, around 30 activists from Philly ADAPT went to our local CMS/HHS Office and demanded that regulations be released for the Community Choice First option established in health care reform. We where greeted by the public relations Director, who sent a letter letting Marilyn Taverner, Region 3 Acting Director for CMS, know that we wanted the regulations released, this letter also was sent to Presidents Obama's Advisor Valerie Jarrett and Kathleen Sebelius Secretary of HHS. We also put Governor Corbett on notice that if he really has a heart the Community Choice first Option would be a good start! It was chilly today and took quite awhile for them to come back with the letters. There where civil affairs and other policeman there but the troops would not be stopped and hung in there. Finally we asked the civil affairs to find out what was taking so long and they did exactly that. Shortly after that we where on our way back to celebrate a great outcome we got what we asked for and it has been awhile since we had a victory, so we celebrated the power of ADAPT!
