----- Forwarded Message Follows ----- From: "Dennis Brown" <brown99@mindspring.com> To: "JFW List" <jfw@yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au> Subject: Script list started. Hi All, Since the JFW script messages rarely get answered on this user's list, and since repeated messages to different locations hasn't been able to determine if one actually exists, I've started a list dedicated to writing JFW Scripts...in the hope that the Script Gurus, (official or otherwise), might be willing to be a bit less hesitant to answer a script question!<grin> I say this with only a little bit of humor though. The Script language is a powerful, flexible, and largely unsupported resource! It gives the user the ability to do damn nearly anything they like, given a little ingenuity and encouragement. As far as I can tell--and if I'm wrong, I'll gladly apologize and eat my hat--there is a Script Manual, a script tutorial, and a resident course in ST. Pete, FL, and all those resources are very helpful in explaining the need, and basic knowledge of the script language, but it seems to stop there! I invite anyone and everyone to join the JFWScripts list--especially people from HJ's script team, unofficial script gurus, and anyone else interested in getting the most out of this script language! The list is named "JFWScripts" and can be joined by sending an empty message to: jfwscripts-subscribe@onelist.com If you've got a question about the script language in general, or a certain script in particular; if you've tried creating a script, and it isn't doing what you thought it would do; if you can't get a script to compile; or if you'd just like to bounce an idea or two off other script writers, then here is the place to do it! And if you were just too bashful to show your immense knowledge in the regular JFW list, when seeing the numerous script questions asked there, then this is the list where you can do so without fear of ridicule for knowing too much!<grin> Thanks, Dennis Brown Visit the BlindProgramming site at http://brown99.home.mindspring.com - Visit the jfw ml web page: http://jfw.cjb.net -- TNET Mail-To-News Gateway Version - 1.6 For information about this gateway email programs@tnet.com
