Applications are available for HOYO: A Homeownership Program for People With Disabilities. The Massachusetts Home of your own program is an inovative homeownership program for people with disabilities. Applications for this program will be available and accepted now through September 1 1998 or until the financial assistance fund is exhausted. This year the program will be able to assist between 15 and 18 households with a variety of disabilities throughout Massachusetts through homeownership education, down payment and closing assistance, and special mortgage financing. The program includes both pre-purchace and post-purchace homeownership education through a network of community based non-profit agencies that have assisted thousands of low income families and individuals along the path of homeownership. Fifteen eligible participants will be able to access $7,500 each in down payment assistance funds and, if they are intrested, a special financing product designed especially to meet the unique credit needs of people with disabilities. Access to financial assistance will be awarded to 15 homebbuyers on a rolling by region once they identify a specific home to purchase. If you would like to recieve more information and an application for this program please contact CHAPA at 800-466-3111
